CAREER PERSONAL TRAINING CHECKLIST STEP 2

Where can you work with the type of clients that will make you happy?

(Since the first question for the Career Personal Training Checklist was; What type of group or market do you want and enjoy working with.)

Now you must figure out if the area you live in has a gym or recreational facility that caters to your "niche" or not.

There is no need to worry if you can not find a facility that is specific to your niche- I will help you create your own opportunity.

It is completely alright if there is no facility or program that targets your market- it just means you truly will be the specialist in your area and you will be able to develop your brand and reputation much faster.

If their is a facility that caters to your desired market- then figure out what they require for you to work there or rent a location.

Start a file with all the different places that you could begin your career in personal training at.

Write down where they are.

How long have they been in business?

How long have they catered to your target market?

Would you work for them as a full-time, part-time or contractual employee?.. Or would you simply pays them a rent for an office or a percentage of the rates you charge?

Do the facilities find your clients for you or would you have to find your own clients?

Is the facility a franchise or a privately owned business?

Where do they get there clients- do their clients go to their facility because they live close by or because they truly have everything your target clients want?

Do you like the environment that these places offer? Can you see yourself building your future personal training career or fitness business?

How far are these places from your own home?

Would you work at only one location or multiple locations?

How much would they pay you- or how much of a percentage or rate would they take per client?

How would you get paid?

What are the certifications, degrees or experience that they require for you to be a Personal Training or Fitness Specialist within their facility?

What if there are no facilities that cater to my target market?

OUR PERSONAL TRAINING CHECKLIST CONTINUES...

See the fact that there are no facilities that cater to your client base as a need for your services.

You can create you own business or even your own job and place yourself at the top of your field as a specialist.

So if you do not have any facility to pick from you should move on to step 3 - because you will have to either create your own job within a facility that has the equipment you need or create your own business- which brings us to question 3....
